Vanilla Bourbon Pecan Pancakes (Gluten/Grain/Dairy Free)

Vanilla Bourbon Pecan Pancakes (Gluten/Grain/Dairy Free)

If you ever needed a reason to get out of bed in the morning, this would be it. When I was little my dad used to always let me pick out a 'monday morning treat' to entice me to get out of bed for school on time. Little did he know I would have gotten out of bed on time anyways but he really knew the way to my heart! As an adult, these would be my monday morning treat choice time and time again. Vanilla Bourbon Pecan Pancakes, there's just nothing better.

Sugar free? What about the 1/3 Cup Coconut Palm Sugat or Brown Sugar (or other granulated sugar of choice)?

Brittany probably means using xylitol or the other sweetener (begins with an e).

Coconut Palm “sugat” and Brown Sugar are listed as ingredients in the recipe in specific quantities.
There is absolutely NO mention of Xylitol as an ingredient or quantity.

You are amazingly creative with all your recipes…you make so much effort and I appreciate all your hard work!

I am allergic to egg white so I will try this recipe with flax eggs and maybe with yolks as well. I welcome any suggestions you have.

Thanks for all your wonderful recipes!

What kind of bourbon is gluten free

    1. Max Barnhart

Any bourbon that does not have caramel color or something else gluten-y added to it is gluten free. The gluten protein breaks down in distillation, according to tests done by the Dutch many years ago. They definitively showed that Maker’s Mark does not have gluten in the final product. Most manufacturers now have the gluten information on their websites for specific products.

I’m currently whipping up a batch of these for my boyfriend who isn’t gluten free, Paleo, dairy free or anything of the sort. I’ve been Paleo for years, but haven’t ever used that word in front of him. He just knows that I eat healthy. Sometimes he said “We have normal food and we have your food,” but he isn’t a picky eater so he’ll eat most things I cook without complaint. Last time he was in town visiting, I made him your blueberry pancakes. We happened to have left over apple pie filing and he asked “Can you make some of those pancakes and we can put the apple on top?” I was so excited that he liked those pancakes enough to specifically request them! I think that these will go better with the apples though. What better way to start 4th of July than apple topped bourbon vanilla pancakes??!! Thanks for giving me so many great recipes. (Oh and he likes your pie crust too. I made Finnish pasties with it)
