Seasonal Sunday (03-06-11)

Welcome to this weeks Seasonal Sunday!

Hope you have all enjoyed the first few days of march this year!

I'm on a raw dessert learning quest right now. Quite soon I will be announcing in greater detail an exciting event that will be taking place through next month titled "April In the Raw" A group of phenomenal blogger's have teamed up to help me make this event possible. I'm incredibly excited- and can't wait to share more. SO over the next few weeks you may see quite a few raw themed recipes popping up here at Real Sustenance as I'm exploring and experimenting. The recipe that I'm sharing today is incredible.

Decadent Orange Zested Raw Cacao Truffles

These were the easiest and MOST decadent treat I have made to date (hence their name). & honestly if you are a chocolate fan- they might be the best thing you ever place in your mouth. EVER. I'm super excited to share this recipe.

This week I would like to feature the a blogger that I'm so lucky to know. Meet Maggie writer of Sheleththemeatcake.com. I first heard about Maggie when she hosted her "12 days of Gluten Free Christmas Cookies " Event this past holiday Season. (An event I HOPE she host's again) and I have been a steady follower since. I HIGHLY highly recommend you take some time and look through her site. So much fantastic information and SO many wonderful recipes. Try out her Gluten Free Sesame Almond Crackers and Gluten Free Blondies. Last week Maggie shared her recipe for Chocolate Peanut Power Bars- a recipe that I will be making soon!

Now its YOUR turn to share.

Here are the Rules:

  1. Recipes must contain one Seasonal Ingredient (See below for the list of foods that are currently in season)
  2. You may link up old or new recipes. Wonderful food is always worth sharing! Feel free to share up to 6 recipes each week.
  3. Gluten Free Recipes are NOT required- this event is meant to inspire ideas for all. However I do ask that if your recipe is Gluten Free that you give it the “GF” Label.
  4. Please include a link in your blog in reference to Seasonal Sundays so that your readers may also participate.

Those truffles sound absolutely amazing! I'm really excited to see what tasty food everyone links up today.

I love the orange and chocolate combination, and those truffles do look amazing! I made those Thai noodles and we really enjoyed them. My girls didn't even complain about eating them, and that's a big deal at our house. The sauce was a little thinner than I imagined, although it did thicken upon cooling a bit. I will definitely make them again and maybe use full fat coconut milk and a little more pb to make it thicker. I'm sharing a tortilla soup and southwest cabbage slaw that I really love. I actually made the slaw again to eat with the Thai noodles, and it was a really great combination.

Wow, look at the turnout here today, Brittany! :-) First, I LOVE that you featured Maggie ... she's a doll and so creative in the kitchen. Second, OMG on those truffles! Your recipes and photos just keep getting better and better. One of my favorite truffles of all times features dark chocolate and Grand Marnier, so I'm sure these would make me so very happy! I linked up an older recipe, Vegan, Chicken, or Turkey Pot Pie, that gets rave reviews at my house and elsewhere. ;-)

    xo,

    Shirley
